TRU-Vu Monitors also offers Daylight Readable, Optically Bonded LCD monitors. Optical bonding injects a transparent optical-grade epoxy resin to bond a protective glass panel directly to the face of the LCD display. This process eliminates the air gap between the LCD display and the cover glass, eliminating the internal reflections which cause the visual wash-out typically seen in bright conditions.The optical bonding also increases the durability of the LCD monitor by bonding the LCD panel to the cover glass. The optical bond maintains perfect display uniformity while providing protection against shock, humidity and internal fogging caused by trapped moisture in standard LCD monitors. Optically Bonded monitors are less expensive to produce than Sunlight Readable monitors, produce less heat, require less power and provide increased ruggedness and durability. However, Sunlight Readable monitors still have the advantage of excellent image quality even in direct, bright sunlight.
